Bicycles are probably the most used transportation method, in Amsterdam center; they are parked everywhere, and bikers are always fast [pay attention, pedestrian!] and happy. There are standard bikes and cargo ones, with a typical long front fork and small wheel, so that they have a large space on the front to carry heavy objects. All looks quite old in design; most innovative bikes, for example with suspensions, disk brakes, etc., are not visible.
With the walkings of these days I see there is a great tourism here. Some museum is particularly famous, and queues for entrance are long. In front of one of them there is a station of pedal boats for rent: we take one and start navigating inside the net of the channels, looking other areas of the center; there is a beautiful sun, so the day is ideal. We are a small two-seats boat at the side of enormous tourist ships crowded with hundreds of passengers. And there is also a race of canoes, with around ten rowers in each one.
The day ends at the Railway Station. During the night the direct City Night Line train, with a coach for bicycles and a pleasant restaurant, will carry us back to Italy. Bye bye Europe...
