Today we reach Bonn, nice but actually a bit anonymous, and turn decidedly to west leaving Rhine and looking for The Netherlands. Near the limits, we thought about a stop in Duren for the night, because it's still early but the knee of Matteo persists in producing pain: but this town (I'm sorry!) looks a bit hostile, so we decide to proceed; there is also an industrial area in its surrounding which is not exactly friendly...
Late in the afternoon we are in Aachen, the last town of Germany. It's dark; in this sort of Montecarlo of the North hardly you can find a hotel which is not of luxus category. At the end we would choose a big hotel of an international chain, called by phone, but we don't find its street; and in a pub, I am unable to explain that I was looking for a phone-book (they proceeded in giving me their business card :). At this point it is night, we go outside proceeding in looking for our street a bit worried, but casually a "normal" hotel appears. We were lucky: fair accomodation.
In the night, main central buildings of Aachen are very fascinating, because of original lighting systems; instead, then we will realize, in the day their architecture are nothing of special.
