When you ride across the Adige Cycle Path, wind and horizon are your travelmates. You see the valley which has a narrow gorge, little, far, in front of you. You see that gorge which becomes closer and bigger minute by minute, together with the movement of the valley. Then you are there, in that singular point, and another large view opens, with other mountains, far, to reach...
In Bolzano, the net of urban cycle paths are excellent. They are almost everywhere, completely separated from motor traffic and always full of bikers going to and fro. Very good!
Merano is still under construction, instead: Adige Cycle Path has some lacks, in its surrounding.
Accomodation in Merano city camping, with swimming pool. Useful to exercise different muscles, swimming, and to catch the last sun of the afternoon.
Caution: Adige Cycle Path is flat, but there is wind almost every day. Wind can change flat ways into deep descents :) or deep ascents :( so it could be useful knowing that someone says that here usually in the morning wind comes from north, and in the afternoon from south. Anyway it follows exactly the line of the valley, so you can't avoid having it exactly in the front or in the rear!
